Best fit: the largest single-phase services and commercial buildings, where available fault current or service size rules out a 600A switch.

At 800A the withstand rating is often the deciding number. The 65,000 A rating gives this switch more margin than the 600A version at 42,000 A, so we check available fault current against it during the design.
It accepts conductors from 4/0 to 500 MCM. The enclosure and 337.5 lb weight match the 600A version, so the same room planning applies.
