Licensed Ontario electrical contractors since 1991, and Canada’s #1 Generac dealer for five consecutive years. Owned and run by master electrician Adam Wachtel, from our head office and shop in Cookstown.
Adam started out as an electrician, earned his master electrician licence, and built Platinum into a contractor trusted by builders, developers and municipalities across the Greater Toronto Area.
He has always built things, and not only electrical systems. Adam is a pilot who builds his own custom airplanes, and he has built custom motorcycles. That same hands-on, figure-it-out approach is how he runs the company: every installation should be designed properly, wired cleanly and built to last.
“He has provided services for a number of our projects over the years, both large and small, and he has always exceeded our expectations with his level of service and commitment to each job.”
Brian Brown, Vice President, Lifetime Developments

Commercial, industrial, institutional and residential electrical work across the GTA.
More and more clients wanted a reliable way to keep the power on. Adam researched the options and found Generac made the best solution.
He contacted Generac, became a dealer and installed his first standby generators. Customers were so satisfied that the work kept growing.

Over more than three decades, Platinum has worked for and alongside some of Ontario’s best-known builders, developers, towns and companies.
Platinum Electrical Contractors was Canada’s #1 Generac dealer for five consecutive years. We’re a Generac PowerPro Premier dealer with Generac-certified technicians, and what earned that ranking hasn’t changed.
That commercial experience is why our generator installs look the way they do. Sizing the system, planning the electrical service, setting the transfer switch and passing ESA inspection are routine work for us.
From 10kW essential-circuit systems to 28kW whole-home Generac units, sized for your house.
Liquid-cooled Generac generators for businesses, farms and critical sites.
The right automatic transfer switch for your panel and service size.
24/7 emergency service, repairs on other generator brands and parts on hand for gas, propane and diesel units.
Financing and a monthly rental plan if you’d rather not pay all at once.
Platinum is part of the Electrical Safety Authority’s selective Authorized Contractor Program. We follow IBEW, ESA and Ministry of Labour rules and safety practices on every job, keep safety training current for everyone on our crews, and every generator we install is permitted and inspected through the ESA.
Our generator crews work out of Cookstown and cover Ontario.
