Platinum Electrical Contractors Inc. – Refund & Return Policy
1. General Return & Refund Policy
At Platinum Electrical Contractors Inc., we strive to ensure customer satisfaction with all purchases made through our website, GeneratorExperts.ca. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, please review the following policy regarding returns and refunds.
2. Refund Processing Fees
For any type of refund, a processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30 will be deducted from the total refund amount. This fee is charged by online payment gateways (such as Stripe, PayPal, and other processors) and is non-refundable. Since these fees are controlled by third-party payment processors, Platinum Electrical Contractors Inc. has no authority to waive or refund them.
3. Non-Returnable & Non-Refundable Products
The following products are non-returnable and non-refundable:
- Standby Generators (All Generac, Briggs & Stratton, and Kohler standby generators). These products are final sale, as they are subject to manufacturer warranty rules.
- Electrical Equipment & Special-Order Items that have been installed, used, or customized for a specific application.
- Digital or Downloadable Products (such as software, permits, or service agreements).
4. Return Eligibility & Conditions
Returns for eligible products are accepted within 30 days of the delivery date, provided that:
- The product is unused, in its original packaging, and in the same condition as received.
- The customer provides proof of purchase (order confirmation or receipt).
- The return has been approved by Platinum Electrical Contractors Inc. before shipping the item back.
5. Restocking Fees for Certain Products
- Transfer Switches & Electrical Components: A 15% restocking fee will apply to all eligible returns of transfer switches, controllers, and electrical parts.
- Special-Order Items: If an item was ordered specifically for a customer, a 20% restocking fee may apply.
6. Refund Timeline & Method
- Once the returned item is received and inspected, we will process the refund within 5–10 business days.
- Refunds will be issued via the original payment method used at the time of purchase.
- The deducted 2.9% + $0.30 processing fee and any applicable restocking fees will be reflected in the final refund amount.
7. Exchanges
We do not offer direct exchanges. If you wish to exchange an item, please return the original item (if eligible for a return), and place a new order.
8. Damaged or Defective Products
If you receive a damaged or defective product, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery. We will work with the manufacturer to facilitate a replacement or repair under the manufacturer’s warranty policy.
9. Cancellations
- Orders can be canceled within 24 hours of purchase for a full refund.
- If an order has already been processed and shipped, the standard return policy applies.
- Canceled orders paid online will also be subject to the 2.9% + $0.30 processing fee deduction, as this fee is not refunded by payment processors.
